Mr. Calvin Williams III

Calvin Williams III, known to all as Sonny, was born on July 31, 1962 to Dorothy M. Williams and Calvin Williams Jr. He was compassionate, loving, and protective until his last breath on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 8:05am. He attended Louisa Mae Alcott Elementary School, Hartman Junior High, and graduated from Jessie H. Jones High School in 1980, where he traveled with the school choir. Sonny worked at Sherwin Williams, Grocer’s Supply, and Walgreens. He went on to attend and successfully graduate from the Police Academy in November 1995. But his greatest achievement in life was becoming a father to the joy of his life, Chelsea. He was a loving father, avid fisherman and everyone loved him as the family prankster. He was christened at St. Nicolas Catholic Church and later joined St Luke Baptist Church where he was baptized in 1967 under the leadership of the late Rev. E. L. Edwards Jr. Waiting to greet him in the next life are his brother, Calvin Williams III; sister, Pamela Williams; maternal grandmother and grandfather, Laura Hulin and Walter Malveaux; step-grandfather, Hebert Hulin; aunts and uncle, Mary Newbrandt, Agnes Reed, Josie Malveaux, Annie Williams, and Arthur Malveaux; cousins, Oscar Williams Jr, Sandra Elaine Robinson, Monica Harris, Betty Hall, Louis Hall, Charles Hall and Shirley Fogle along with a host of extended family members who preceded him in death. Left to mourn and celebrate Sonny is his incredibly, strong faith-filled mother, Dorothy Williams; father, Calvin Williams Jr; loving daughter, Chelsea Williams; sisters, Cheryl Cormier, Amanda Williams Barriga, Michelle Williams Ybarra; nephews James Williams, Roland Torres Jr, Simon Moreno III, Samuel Barriga, and Sergio Barriga; niece, Deliah Torres; aunt, Rita Jackson, Louise Joseph (cousin); a host of cousins, Laurie Jean Filmore, Ollie M. Williams, Bennie L.
