Mrs. Janet Marie Graham

Janet Marie Jones was born March 19, 1952, to the late Earl Jones and Sallie Mae Broussard. Janet was the 5th child out of 6 born in Orange, TX. She gave her life to Christ attending Starlight Church of God and Christ at a very young age. She graduated from Lutcher Stark High School in 1970 and continued her education at Texas Southern University; where she studied Education. After a couple of years, Janet opted to delay her education, in order to move to California to join her older siblings. She developed an interest in banking and persuade that interest while attaining a job at Bank of America as a Vault Teller in 1974. While in Los Angeles, she met Roosevelt Graham and his sister, who would chauffeur her to and from work. She realized during the next 2 years she could not be without her “Special Red Man”. The bond Janet and Roosevelt shared became stronger as they carpooled together and that is when they established their relationship. On Oct. 9, 1976, Janet married her “Special Red Man” and as they say…the rest is history. From this union, Janet not only gained a husband, she was also gifted a son Tyree. The two continued to grow their family and 2 sons were born, Terry and Terrell. Over the next few years, the couple lived in the Compton area and decided in 1984 to move the family to Moreno Valley, CA. Along with her husband and two sons, she decided to take her niece, Pamela along to embark on their new journey. While in Moreno Valley, the Graham family joined the Riverside Faith Temple Church, where they were active members. Janet’s desire for children ignited at this time and started her career as a Licensed Childcare Provider. Initially, it started as a daycare facility which then she transformed into a 24 hour childcare service. The family remained in Moreno Valley until 1990 and moved to Houston, TX – the first city Janet loved. After taking a year off, from her profession, Janet rekindled her passion to help children until she retired in 2012. The Grahams joined Brookhollow Baptist Church in 1999. As faithful members, they served on the Picnic Committee, Childcare Ministry, and the Greeter’s Ministry. Outside of her special love for children, Janet had a love for crafts. She created, admired and transformed many types and styles of over a hundred dolls. She had a love for specialty pieces, as well as, owls and crochet items. She was also an avid seamstress. Among her other diverse talents, Janet was a self-renowned entrepreneur and party coordinator. The Graham’s had several start-up businesses they created; such as Special Place (banquet hall), J&B Creations (store) and Backyard Events (wedding arrangements). Preceding her in death, Earl Jones and Sallie Mae Broussard (parents); Robert Earl Jones, George Edward Jones, Sr., and Earlyne Renette Cockrell (siblings). She leaves Roosevelt (Mr. Bell) Graham, husband 42 years and Companion, Lover, Friend, her All & Everything for 44 years. Sisters – Bessie Joyce Mosley of Los Angeles, CA; Myrtle Faye Jackson of Los Angeles, CA. Sons – Tyree Sean Graham (Lisa Marie) of Los Angeles, CA; Terry Lionell Graham (Natalie Amanda Bettencourt) of Houston, TX; Terrell Otis Graham (Angelique Nicole) of Austin, TX. A Beloved Daughter/Niece Pamela Jones of Tampa, FL. Special Daughter Ann Marie Williams of Los Angeles, CA. 14 grandchildren – Alexander, Kevin, Angelina, Deyjon, Marcus, Jasmine, Reina, Dominique, Isaiah, Aaliyah, Brooklyn, Aiden, Xavier and Sylis. God-like Angels – Kylie, Camryn and Claire. 15 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and 10,000 friends.
