Mrs Jontrece Dominique Nobles

Jontrece Dominique Nobles, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018. She departed from this earth while quietly sleeping at home. Jontrece was born on December 8,1985 in Houston, Texas. She was the daughter of Rhonda Nobles Nelson and Elliott Franklin. Jontrece was raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where she attended and graduated from Washington Marion Magnet High School in 2004. Early on it was clear that Jontrece loved people, especially her family. Whenever she was around family, she never stopped smiling, thus she was given the nickname “Smiley,” by her Uncle Earl. As a kid her summers were spent vacationing with her sisters Sharonda, Taleisha, and her fav cousin R.J.. When she wasn’t traveling they spent summers wreaking havoc at her grandmother’s house. From convincing R.J. to play hiding seek where he ended up with a concussion. To breaking momo’s prize squirrel. Jontrece was baptized at Saints Memorial Church of God In Christ In Lake Charles Louisiana. Not only was she a member of the church but, she started off singing in the Sunshine Band before she moved up to the youth and young adult choir and became a praise dancer. After moving to Houston Tx. she tried her best to attend services and classes with her grandmother, Missionary Shirley Mirant, at Lily Of The Valley COGIC. Though Trece grew up in Lake Charles, she spent most of her adult life living in Houston where she discovered her passion for nail art and makeup. She dedicated much of her free time honing her skills to perfect her craft. Mastering a new technique gave her great joy and everyone could see it. She practiced on family members, friends and even hospital staff. Jontrece did not have any children of her own, but was a very proud aunt to her six nieces and eight nephews. She was also proud of her cousin, who is often referred to as her niece or daughter cousin (LOL,) Zoe Rey Nobles. Even though we must say goodbye to a sickle cell warrior, who brought us a great deal of joy, take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain and will remain in our hearts. Jontrece was preceded in death by her mother Rhonda Nobles Nelson, her grandmother Shirley Nobles Mirant and her grandfather Robert Nobles. She is survived by her sisters Sharonda Nobles and Taleisha Nobles of Houston, TX her brothers Darius M. Nelson (Tiffany Nelson) Marcus Nelson ( Alexis Curry) of Lake Charles, La. and Bradley Nelson ( April Nelson) Of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, great grandmother Willetta Dabney of Houston, Tx and grandfather Christopher Mirant of Houston, Tx, cousin R.J. Nobles of Atlanta Ga., uncle Jerome Nobles (Aimee Nobles) of Houston Tx. and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles other relatives and many friends. She was passionate about helping others struggling with sickle cell. She was a part of a response team of a group of sickle cell warriors who would advocate for patients in the hospital. She was willing to do hands-on work like bringing patients to and from their doctors appointments, to the emergency room, and even bring them food. She didn't want anyone to feel alone in the hospital or without support. She joined the sickle cell consortium and attended the general assembly and the family and patient symposium held each year in Atlanta. There she discussed raising awareness for sickle cell anemia and advances in treatment. She also coordinated with sickle cell advocates nationwide to continue these efforts in each of their respective cities. She had plans to work with the sickle cell Association of Houston.
