Mr. Clay Sheppard

"Cedrick Clay Sheppard, the only child of Gracie Lee Dickson and Melvin Sheppard, boldly entered this world on October 19, 1970. He was born in Houston, Texas where he was affectionately raised by his loving grandparents, Willie Lee and Inell Dickson and his exceedingly gracious and caring parents Bob and Shirley Smith.\r\n\r\nCedrick accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shady Acres Church of Christ where his love for the Lord fostered and grew. CedrickÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s academic excellence and athleticism led him through Eisenhower High School to Friends University in Wichita, Kansas on a full athletic and academic scholarship. While at Friends University, Cedrick played the position of quarter back. Cedrick was an avid sports fan and automobile connoisseur; his favorite NFL player was Peyton Manning and his favorite automobiles were among the top ten luxury sports cars.\r\n\r\nCedrick had a genuine love for people. His infectious character embodied the phrase, Ã¢â‚¬Å“A Heart of GoldÃ¢â‚¬Â. He devoted every day to assisting and caring for others; giving to those in need of prescriptions, groceries, transportation and any support all over the community. It is through his dedication to others that he met his wife, Edreka Allums Sheppard and on August 17, 2005 they were joined in holy matrimony. Their unification was formed with five beautiful children; Tatiyana, Treivion, Jalyn, Jazmyne and Adriana. This union was sealed with the birth of their daughter Zoey. Cedrick enjoyed spending time with his family, having family gatherings at his home, watching sports, coaching his sonÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s sports teams, being the school dad and watching movies on family night with his wife and children.\r\n\r\nCedrick departed this life leaving to mourn his devoted wife, Edreka Sheppard of Sugar Land, Texas; his four daughters, Tatiyana, Jazmyne, Adriana, and Zoey; his two sons, Treivion and Jalyn; his parents, Bob and Shirley Jean Smith of Houston, Texas; his brother LaDedrick Smith Arnesia of Houston Texas; Inlaws Edward and Carolyn Allums of Baton Rouge La; Three Sister and Brother Inlaws, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.\r\n\r\nCedrick was preceded in death by his mother, Gracie Lee Dickson; grandfather, Willie Dickson; and grandmother, Inell Dickson.\r\n"
