Mrs. Myrtle Morgan

"Obituary\r\nA precious one from us is gone, a voice we loved is still. A place is vacant in our home, which never can be filled, but God knows we love you still.\r\n\r\nSister Myrtle Morgan was born March 3, 1920 to the late Arvern and Mary House Bennett in Keithville, Louisiana. She was the fifth of eight children. She attended The Light Hall School in Bethany, Louisiana.\r\n\r\nShe accepted Christ at an early age as a member of the St. John Baptist Church in Greenwood, Louisiana.\r\nShe married the late Alfred Morgan on December 25, 1938 and later moved to Houston, Texas. They were blessed with five children.\r\n\r\nAfter moving to Houston in 1943, she joined the True Vine Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Collins. She later united with the Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Grant White. In 1974, she was a founding member of Christian Love Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Thomas L. Johnson. She served in many capacities over the years, including a member of the Sunday School, Usher Board and a loyal member of the Women Mission until her health failed.\r\n\r\nShe loved God. When she was able to attend church she was very happy. She loved her family and always showed love for others. Her favorite quote was: Ã¢â‚¬Å“If I can help somebody as I travel along, If I can help somebody in a word or a song, If I can help somebody from doing wrong, Lord, my living shall not be in vain.Ã¢â‚¬Â\r\n\r\nOn December 20, 2012, she was called home to be with the Lord.\r\n\r\nShe is preceded in death by her husband-Alfred Morgan; parents-Arvern and Mary Bennett; sons-Howard Morgan and Woodard Morgan; granddaughter-Arcenia K. Morgan; great grandson-James L. McQuaig, Jr.; three brothers-Clarence Bennett, Sr., JR Bennett and Leonard Bennett; two sisters-Magnolia Reddix and Berniece Smith.\r\n\r\nShe leaves to walk the road of life without her guidance three daughters-Mary Autry JB, Shirley Faye Hines, and Dianne McDaniel all of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister-Velma Brown the late Foster Brown of Gardenia, California; one brother-Obadiah Bennett the late Ruby Bennett of Los Angeles, California; three sisters-in-laws-Thena Anderson of Compton, California, Bernice Stanley of Houston, Texas and Bobbie Morgan of Dallas, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.\r\n"
