Ms. Pearl Stein Lyons

Pearl Stein was born on June 24, 1939 to the parents of Johnnie Lee Jordan and Richard Wilson in Tallulah, Louisiana. She attended and graduated from the Reuben McCall High School in Tallulah, Louisiana. After graduation, she moved to Jasper, Texas, later she moved to Houston, Texas is where she began her career at Texas Southern University as a Library Technician. Later in life, she moved to San Diego, California where she began working as a Private Duty caregiver. After her health began to fail, she moved back to Houston, Texas. Pearl met and married Mr. Stone Lyons, Jr. Pearl was the proud mother of eight children. Pearl was baptized in 1986 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Glenn Jones in San Diego, California. After moving back to Houston, Texas, she united with Greater Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Eddie L. Gilmore. She was affectionately known as Mother Pearl of the church and continue to work faithfully until her health began to fail. Her parents, Johnnie Lee Jordan and Richard Wilson; one son Frederick Phillips; three brothers Lonnie Wilson, William Russell and twin brother Cassie Jordan preceded her in death. Sister Pearl Stein Lyons leaves to cherish her memories, seven children Tuwanda (Wale) Akinola, Terry Wayne Wilson of Houston, Texas; Sherry (Terry) Adams from Jasper, Texas; Andre' (Lori) Lyons of Houston, Texas; Darrell (Vista) Lyons of Dallas, Texas; Jennifer Lyons of San Antonio, Texas and Jeffery Lyons of Corpus Christi, Texas; one loyal and faithful sister Barbara Ann Wilson of Houston, Texas; one sister-in-law Jean Wilson Trass of Tallulah, La.; one aunt Bertha Wilson of Tallulah, La.; fifteen grandchildren Dandrea Simpson of Houston, Texas; Brandon Wilson of Dallas, Texas; Roderick (Ja'ney) Spignor of Houston, Texas; Kendall (Carlos) Ortiz of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kira (Carlos) Munoz of San Diego, California; Matthew Lyons of St. Paul, Minnesota; Ashton Lyons of Houston, Texas; Angel Lyons of Orlando, Florida; Dage Lyons of Dallas, Texas; Ajani Lyons of Dallas, Texas; Jasmine Lyons of Houston, Texas; Pia Simpson of Houston, Texas; April (Shawn) Myles of Houston, Texas; Tsandi Kellyman of Houston, Texas and Nicke (Jackie) Kellyman of Houston, Texas; ten great grandchildren; three special sisters Bobbie Craig of San Diego, California; Wanda Coleman of Temecula, California and Cheryl Jackson of Chicago, Illinois; two special friends Mitiz Davis of Jasper, Texas and Linda Sue Williams of Beaumont, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
