Mrs. Rosie Lee

Rosie Lee Ambrose was born August 25, 1942 in Beaumont, Texas in to the late Lonnie Mae Ambrose and Curtis John Ambrose. As a young child, she loved Sunday school, often walking ahead of everyone to get to the little white church before time. The late Rev. M. L. Williams baptized her at the age of 16 years old on March 30, 1958 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Beaumont, TX. Rosie attended Charlton Pollard High School in Beaumont, Texas. She was very active in school activities; She was voted the “MOST POPULAR SOPHOMORE RUNNER UP”, and was an active member of the Charlton Pollard’s Brigade, “Prancers”. She was also a member of the school’s Courtesy Club and the Red Cross. Rosie moved to Houston, TX in 1965 and embarked upon a career of licensed vocational nursing, a graduate of Alvin College, Alvin, TX. She was also a medical instructor; teaching medical career continuing education courses. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, traveling and making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosie was a member of Light of the World Christian Fellowship, Humble, TX, a past long-standing member of New Zion Temple Church, Houston, TX and was first wife of God’s Temple Church, Houston, TX, and Reverend Ned Lee. Rosie is most remembered for her strong faith in God and encouraging others through prayer to both family and friends. Rosie is survived by her husband of more than fifty years, Reverend Ned Lee, four children; Deborah (Amed), Anthony (Lynette), Anissa (Cedric) and Ned (Tracy) all of Houston, TX and two stepdaughters, Deborah Ann (Jesse) of Monterey, CA and Denise ((Kenneth) of Houston, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Omar, Alexandria, Ned V, Trachon, Jasmin, Jesse Jr., Ashley, Cedric Jr., Antonio, Kimberly, Damarcus, Tiffany, Kendrick, Joy, Lydia, Anissa, LaToya, Dora and Yvette, a host of great grandchildren, three nieces, one nephew, sister-in-law, Sue Ambrose of Los Angeles, CA and a plentiful network of close friends and relatives. Viewing will be held at Light of the World Christian Fellowship, Humble, TX at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 16th, interment, Houston Memorial Gardens, Pearland, TX.
