Mrs. Rosa Evans

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall, I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Psalms 27:1-2 Rosa Evans was born on June 22, 1925 in Milo Oklahoma to Haston and Eliza Franklin. Rosa joined Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma where she received Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Rosa moved to Houston and met the love of her life Roscoe Evans. Rosa and Roscoe were united in holy matrimony on February 18, 1955. To this union three children were born, Roscoe Evans Jr, Cynthia Lynn and Darrell. Rosa and Roscoe joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church where they served for forty plus years. They moved their membership to Bella Vista Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Calvin J. Abraham. Rosa received the National Treasure award for the Heights Area as well as the Bella Vista’s Senior Mission award. Rosa was also a member of the Sunday School and the IHAM Senior Gathering. Rosa enjoyed crafting, sewing and making hats for church. Rosa is proceeded in death by her parents Haston and Eliza Franklin, her brothers Millard, Martin and Otis Franklin and one sister Epimetheus Robertson. Rosa leaves to cherish her memory her husband Roscoe Evans Sr., her three children Roscoe Evans Jr. (Anlee), Cynthia Lynn Evans and Darrell Wayne Evans. Two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, her sisters Theresa Howard, Johnnie Howard (Theopolus), Alma Douglas, Norvelle Green, Nadine Pickens (Glennon) and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
